The final and hardest mode. No hints, no pausing, and only seconds to respond. As close to a live call as training gets.

A skill has not been acquired until it survives the conditions of real life: no support, no time to compose, no chance to take a sentence back.

moves for that skill - and nothing else does.
Why the line is drawn
Honest conditions only
An ability score exists to indicate one thing: how this person would perform on a real call. Let scores from the easier, scaffolded modes feed it and the number inflates into self-flattery - meaningless to the learner and worse than meaningless to anyone relying on it. Honest measurement requires honest conditions, so the score is tied to Examination alone.
Placement
Last on the ladder - on purpose
Examination belongs at the end of the ladder, after the earlier modes have done their work. Attempted early, it measures only that the work has not been done yet.
