Why this skill exists

Most other skills stand on discovery.

Skip it and the rest of the call is theatre. Get it right and every later skill has something real to work with.

Without it, you pitch blind

Feature dumps, weak bridges, and closes that never had a chance - all start with discovery that never found the real pain.

It unlocks everything after

Solution-need bridge, objection handling, and closing all depend on what discovery actually uncovered. Thin discovery makes those skills harder.

Surface answers are not enough

Buyers will give you polite, shallow answers. The cost of stopping there is a deal that looked fine on the call and died in follow-up.
